This halloween was the first time we'd opened our doors for Trick or Treaters and we have to say what lovely, well mannered children we had visit us. Well done to the youth of Beith! Very impressed. :-)…
Youth Making beith Better (YMBB) have been restoring the old Spier's Garden of Remembrance, assisted by NAC Volunteer Iain and the NAC Garnock Valley Ranger.
An impeccably maintained Rose Garden used to exist at Spier's, acting as a Garden of Remembrance for the seventy or so ex-pupils that died in WWI and WWII. The site had a yew tree hedge on three sides and a Lonicera hedge with an ornate wrought iron gate on the fourth side.
YMBB have cleared the site of debris, removed and recycled hundreds of dumped bricks and restored the yew tree hedges.
