YMBB - A Totem Dowsy Bunch

The Youth Making Beith Better (YMBB) Monday group have been working with their leaders and the NAC Garnock Valley Ranger on the Totem Pole project for the Spier's parklands and a spot of dowsing!

The group are creating a Totem Pole for the Spier's Old School Grounds using an old telegraph pole which will be decorated with 'wings', plaques, carvings, paintings, etc by Artistic Jane and her team. A site for this artwork has been selected within a woodland copse on the 'footprint' of the old school buildings.

The NAC Ranger supplied several sets of metal divining rods and the group searched or dowsed for a coin placed at random beneath one of five plastic discs. Some limited success was achieved, however the efficacy of the phenomenon remains unproven!
