The 25th Anniversary Season of Beith Ladies Walkers Group

The 25th Anniversary Season of Beith Ladies Walkers Group was a lively occasion with a large number turning up at the usual location for the first walk of the season. More joined the walk later and the party afterwards at Helen’s when everyone enjoyed good company and exchanged stories of some of the more memorable and humorous adventures over the years.
The cake cutting was kept till 10pm when Joan in USA was linked to us by Skype. She was able to read the inscription on the cake! Those who knew her were able to speak individually after she joined us all in a toast to the Group.
Another founder member, Barbara, sent congratulations by email attaching photos out walking that week in a beautiful cherry blossom park in Shanghai where she lives. Both have appreciated the photographs and recognised some of the people depicted. The walking has certainly provided fun, friendship and a feeling of well-being over all the years and the miracle of technology means it is so easy to keep in touch across the miles.
Joan and Barbara both remember the scenery around this area with great fondness; we are privileged to have it all around us now. The weekly walks are in the evenings but occasional extra weekend day trips take place too.
