BTCV Conserve at Barrmill Park
The British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) have been lending a hand to the Barrmill Park group in the Vale Grove, cutting back bramble in preparation for tree and wildflower planting.
Katie Stewart led the group who did an impressive job, despite the inclement weather. The Barrmill Community Centre was made available to the group by Jean Gilbert and her team.
Katie also visited the 'Dead Man's Planting', the old 1832 cholera pit site, with the NAC Garnock Valley Ranger to plan and cost the proposed project aimed at restoring this historic site, accompanied by farmer and landowner, Mr Robin Boyd.
