Beith's 'grand old lady' Mary celebrates 90th birthday

  • Mary Howatson celebrated her 90th birthday this month

The 'grand old lady of Beith' - Mary Howatson - has marked a very special day this month, with celebrations for her 90th birthday.

Mary Howatson (nee McKechan) was born on August 1st, 1920 to local farmers Dan McKechan and Maggie Robertson, and was raised in the farming life at West Overon on the Trearne Estate.
