Beith Community Sports Club - Being the change you want to see locally

by beith football

There is a real need in Beith for safe, suitable facilities for activities related to sport, health and well-being. We think our kids are being let down and they deserve more. Local groups and clubs are struggling to provide activities for our kids locally because of the state of local facilities like the astro and the pitches at the public park.

There will be no support in the near future for any kind of maintenance, upkeep or development of these facilities from the local authority.

Local groups and clubs came together recently and talked about the problems they face providing activities for our children in Beith because of the state of local facilities, and what they could do to find a solution.

What do you think could be achieved if a committed alliance of local groups, clubs and individuals worked together to find solutions to local issues? Who should be involved, who shouldn't? Would there be any point? What problems would it face?

Regardless of this, one thing is for certain, if the community of Beith wants a better future for its kids, it will have to step up and make the change itself.

With committment we could achieve a this and a whole lot more!

It's clear now that the ONLY way to sort something out for the Beith community is if we go for it ourselves - and we CAN do it!

All too often the youth and indeed the people of the town are dis-empowered - isn't it time we pooled our talents to make our town a better place to be?

I'd like to see those who care about this come together to form a plan to put Beith back on the map ... I'm in, who else is ready to step up and make the change happen the way WE'd like to see it?

I think this is the only way forward however would this work independently of the proposed Community Sports Club proposed at Lochshore? Are the two groups in contact? Please contact me if you think that I can help in any way.

We are both in contact, there were 5 clubs represented at the last meeting, over 50 people attended, collectively representing over 500 children, young people and adults.

The rugby club, who are the driving force behind the community sports club idea at Lochshore told the meeting they had been working with NAC for 13 years on the development of this idea, and still were not sure they had a pathway forward.

They told the meeting that ANY improvement on facilities in the Garnock Valley would be a step forward, and that the Lochshore development trust would actively support a solution focused alliance of interests that worked together to build a better future for our community.

We are inviting anyone, no matter what their interest or experience is, to step up to being a part of this, we value everyone's input, and everyone really can make a difference.

If ANYONE is interested in being a part or finding our more email Beithfootball@hotmail.com.
