Barrmill Communities Projects Initiative update
The Barrmill Communities Projects Initiative (BCPI) has been progressing well with input from local people, the NAC Access Officer, the NAC Garnock Valley Ranger and NAC Streetscene.
Projects have been discussed and a number have reached the advanced planning stage, such as daffodil planting in the park, a path and seat in the old quarry, picnic tables, fencing, wildlife surveys, talks, and bird box construction. It is hoped that a letter drop over the next few months will attract workers for the practical conservation days and get some younger folk involved.
The group are to join the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) so as to access specialised insurance, training, advice, and to advance networking.
The next meeting is on Monday, September 13th at 7.30pm in the Community Centre. All are very welcome to attend.
